Bristol Wedding Photographer, Tockington

It was an absolute delight to be able to photograph Rea and Jamie’s wedding in Bristol last month in June. The weather was great, hot hot hot! Which worked out as planned because the wedding reception was held in Tockington Manor School’s cricket grounds just outside of Bristol. The wedding ceremony was held in St Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church just off Gloucester Road in Bristol.

I was really impressed with Rea who put her artistic talents to work and pretty much put together (with the help of friends and family) the reception venue. I’m sure you will agree from the photographs that it looked amazing. I was pretty amazed when I learnt this wasn’t the work of a professional, it just goes to show a bit of time and effort goes a long way. Her lovely parents surprised Rea and Jamie with a string quartet on their arrival. A lot of the day was centred around the many, many children attended the wedding. There were lots of fun and games, a children’s entertainer and of course sweets and yummy wedding cupcakes.

Anyway, here are some of my favourite photographs from the day.

1920′s Themed Wedding

Just a quick post to say that I am really happy to have been featured by Kat (of Rock n’ Roll Bride fame) for my recent wedding with Emma and Adam. Their 1920′s themed wedding is one that I will always remember. The amount of thought and planning that must have gone in to it paid off and I’m really proud that I was their photographer.

I think it’s great that people aren’t restricted by tradition and can make their wedding personal and unique. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding that didn’t have this, but Emma and Adam’s is one I will always remember.

(By the way, the photographs are in the post today if you’re reading!)

Chewton Place Wedding, Keynsham / Bristol

When Emma and Adam booked me last year to photograph their wedding at Chewton Place I was really happy because I knew it would be a photographers dream! I understand that the 1920’s theme evolved from Emma’s choice of a Jenny Peckham wedding dress. Even my girlfriend was ‘wowed’ when she saw the photographs of the dress  – and she’s a very particular lady!

The 1920’s theme continued with the choice of music, the guest’s attire, the car, cake and also the choice of venue. It was a pretty amazing day and we managed to dodge some August showers and get some wedding portraits with Emma’s second love (I think!) Chester.

Anyway, here are a few of my favourite photographs from the day.

Grand Hotel Wedding, Bristol

Being the photographer for Gina & Aiden’s wedding at the Grand Hotel by Thistol in Bristol was a real pleasure. Not only did the bride and groom look spectacular but I thought their lavish choice of venue complimented the happiness and joy of their day. Both Gina and Aiden were incredibly relaxed in front the camera and so I’m really looking forward to their ‘day after shoot.’ I love working with people, but when your clients are fun and creative it always seems to add a little something extra to the photographs.

Anyway, I had a quick browse through this morning and thought I would share these few photographs that made me smile.

Wedding Photographer Sherborne

It was a real pleasure to be invited to photograph Donna and Chris’s wedding in Sherborne Abbey, Dorset. To photograph someone’s wedding is always a huge honour – but when the venue is as historic and beautiful as Sherborne Abbey you can’t help but feel a bit more emotional than normal!

Highlights of the day? Well, the whole day was special but a few moments really stick in my mind. The beautiful ceremony in the imposing abbey. The brass band at the reception. The speeches (I haven’t laughed that much in a long time!) Helping Donna climb a tree and Chinese lanterns which almost burned down a tree!

As the wedding was only yesterday I haven’t yet had the chance to look at all of the photographs. That said I have posted a preview below as a few stood out from a first glance.

(And if you missed their engagement shoot be sure to have a look.)

Gayle & Neal

I’ve had so many weddings and engagement shoots in Somerset these days it is proving hard to keep up with the weddings in Bristol! It’s been fantastic to have weddings further afield, not only for the new locations but it means people like my work!

Still, back to Bristol. I really enjoyed being part of Gayle and Neal’s wedding at St Michaels church in Stoke Gifford. The weather was great and they had the unique wedding idea of having performing artists. With circus tricks, a light show and to finish the evening off a fire show! If you didn’t see their engagement shoot be sure to have a look at the photographs here. It was pretty spectacular and made for some great wedding photographs…
