2010 | Review
2010 was a tough year for me but looking back I have a lot to be thankful for. Firstly the amazing couples I have met. Being part of their wedding was special and I won’t forget any of them. Knowing what my photographs mean to people is one of the main reasons I love this job. And whilst I’m often critical of my work I’m also immensely proud. I’m always looking for that next photograph. Trying to improve on what I have just taken.
Starting my own business has been scary. But I’ve enjoyed it too. A lot. It’s been a challenge and whilst I know I need to pull myself away from work it’s sometimes hard because I enjoy it so much. That’s something I have never had in a 9 to 5 job. I’ve been given targets, goals and appraisals but they have never really meant anything.
Personally I’ve had some ups and downs. I’ve made a few minor mistakes along the way and my family have suffered personal losses. But I got engaged this year in New York too. Crazy. Now planning my own wedding for 2012 (if we can find the right venue.)
I’ve 29 bookings for 2011. For my second year that seems incredibly lucky and I’m still getting enquiries. 2011 will be an incredible journey – I’m looking forward to it and I’m going to give it everything I have.
Here are a few of my memories from 2010. Most of these images haven’t been shown on the blog before.
Some fantastic images here! All the best for 2011!
Beautiful work. Great collection of favorites!
ALL of it is fantastic but I love your close ups!
Some really neat images in there! I love, love the croquet B+G portrait!
Wow – I want to move to your area, everyone is ridiculously fashionable and photogenic 😉 I particularly adore the one of the elderly lady coming down the stairs. Absolutely stunning work.
Great year for you!
A few that really stand out for me:
-The Bride releasing the rice paper lantern.
-The couple with the horse.
-And for some reason the bride with the curlers running down the stairs… Great capture. Really funky and cool.
Cheers!
Congratulations on a great year! The second to the last photo is a favorite of mine, but I love them all. Your black and whites are wonderful! Absolutely gorgeous photos!
Well done Albert. Great to see what has become of the TFTTF forum member 🙂
Being self employed, yes it is scary at times but it is also very rewarding in the end. Even more before taxes LOL
All the best for 2011!
What a fantastic year! These really made me smile.
Congrats on such a wonderful set of images! Congrats as well as the success—it’s well deserved!
Congrats on a wicked year! Classy work for sure!
Absolutely gorgeous work. What a great year!
Looks like an awesome year!
So good. It’s no wonder why you have a million weddings booked next year. 😉 Love your clean elegance Bert! It has class.
Love the one of the bride + groom + croquet shot. Also love the one of the bride & groom in the field at sunset -beautiful tones/colors in that one. And lastly love the shot of the backs of the two church ladies. Very funny & cute 🙂
Fantastic work. I would make a comment on some of the photos I like, but there are so many to choose from. I guess the one I like the most is the shot of the bride and groom from behind the priest. Nice point of view. Often times in churches like that I am not allowed anywhere near to front.
I love your work, and post processing.
Stunning work, what a year! I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing what you create in 2011.
Many congrats on your engagement Albert! Lovely to see your 2010 favourites and we really can’t wait to share our special day with you in March – see you in February for our engagement shoot! Happy New Year and here’s to a successful 2011 for you.
Absolutely beautiful, Bert. It’s been a good year, and I look forward to seeing what you do in the new year as well! 🙂
Great set of images from a very talented photographer. Happy new year to you Bert – looks like you are in for a busy one !!
Aw, I love the polo shots. 😀 Awesome job!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Every single one of them. I want to go back and look at them all again!
