Villa Podernovo is one of those places that just has everything you could dream of. The moment you arrive, you feel looked after. The team there are always so welcoming, and no matter the season, it’s a stunning spot to celebrate.
As a wedding photographer, I love shooting here because the variety is unreal. The soft Tuscan light around the villa is magic, the gardens and olive trees are perfect for a wander and some effortless portraits, and the whole place has this relaxed charm that lets couples really enjoy every moment.
And then you pair it with a ceremony at San Galgano Abbey. That roofless cathedral in the countryside is like nothing else. It gives you drama, history, and the most incredible atmosphere for your vows. The abbey and Villa Podernovo together create a backdrop that feels cinematic from start to finish.

If there’s one spot that truly feels like the standout wedding location in Tuscany, Villa Podernovo has to be it.
So when couples ask me to photograph their Villa Podernovo wedding, especially with a ceremony at San Galgano Abbey, I’m always buzzing to say yes.

Villa Podernovo has everything you could ever want from a Tuscan wedding venue and then some. Set among the rolling hills near San Galgano, it’s a beautifully restored farmhouse full of character, history, and that effortless Italian charm.
Alongside the stunning scenery, the venue has this incredible warmth to it, the kind of feeling you really notice when you’re spending one of the most important days or even a whole weekend of your life there. It’s a place that instantly feels special, and couples always connect with it the moment they arrive.
CHURCH WEDDING?
If you’re dreaming of a ceremony with real impact, San Galgano Abbey is just down the road from Villa Podernovo. It’s the kind of place that stops you in your tracks. Those open walls, the sky above you, and the sheer history of it all make for the most unforgettable setting to say your vows.
I’ve photographed some incredible moments there, and every time it feels electric. One couple had live musicians start playing as they walked into the abbey and the whole place came alive. It was honestly next level. After a ceremony like that, heading back to Villa Podernovo to celebrate is the perfect way to round out the experience.
THE RECEPTION
After the ceremony at San Galgano Abbey, you’re only a short drive from Villa Podernovo, which is where the celebrations really come alive. Couples usually head straight to the garden lawn, and it’s the perfect spot for drinks, music, and a bit of playful chaos.
One of my favourite moments was watching a couple and their guests kick off an impromptu mid-afternoon limbo session. More 3pm limbo at weddings would be a brilliant thing in my opinion. The relaxed vibe at Villa Podernovo just makes those moments feel effortless and fun.
Villa Podernovo is genuinely one of the most beautiful wedding venues you could choose. I’ve photographed weddings there across different seasons, and it always delivers something special. Every corner has its own charm, whether it’s the olive trees, the warm stone walls, or the light that shifts through the gardens throughout the day.
