Ben & Jon | Civil Partnership | London, Middle Temple
I was truly privileged to have been chosen by Ben and Jon to cover their civil partnership in London. The venue was Middle Temple and o boy, what a venue it was. The guys managed to secure the venue through their work and it made a pretty unique venue. You could almost taste the history. Not only was it my first time photographing in London it was my first civil partnership so it was even more special to be a part of their day.
Their friends and family were so much fun and I really loved being a part of the day. There were some great photo opportunities with the ceremony, celebrations, dancing and the sparklers. I remember the guys and I went for a stroll around the gardens in the evening to get a few photos of the two of them together. It was nice to get away from the buzz of the party and be in a quiet space but surrounded in the big mad city of London. Good times.
Here are the photos from late August…
Love the smiles following the first kiss… so sweet 🙂

Awesome job mate and wow what a venue…extremes of dark and light but great natural capture, wicked colours and emotion…top job Bert. Love the epic “everybody dancing” shot.
I love that they got ready together. such strong storytelling throughout.
Always a pleasure to look at your work.
I really loved this. So intimate and your black and whites are so nice!
Great work Bert, love the processing you have used here especially the B&W’s. Awesome looking venue too.
