It’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog (sorry!) ‘Wedding season’ has well and truly taken over at Palmer HQ but I’m determined to try and get back in to the blogging routine. To kick start this I’m sharing a belter of a destination wedding from Hacienda De San Rafael.

Rachel and Shane invited me over (with good friend Greg!) to photograph their wedding in this incredible location. The wedding venue is about an hour from Seville with everything on site. Surprisingly the weather (whilst amazing) was not as roasting as I had imagined. I can’t tell you how thankful I was for this twist and I spent the whole day in relative comfort.

Being a Hacienda De San Rafael wedding photographer was pretty damn awesome. Whilst their wedding ceremony was quite late in the day I could have spent many more hours taking photos had their been time. But as with all good weddings the time seems to slip away at double pace.

Quick shoutouts to make up artist Oui Novias and haird stylist legend Rebecca Harris. Rebecca is actually one of Rachel’s sisters and features here and there in this post! Rachel’s wedding dress Olvis was purchased at Teokath in Wimbledon. Lastly Rachel’s uncle (Chris O’Connor) designed all of their wedding stationery from scratch.

By crazy coincidence Shane’s two sisters went to school with my wife so I knew a tiny bit about them before I arrived. Shane was great to be around on the day. Nervous in the morning but a bit of a party animal and hilarious to be around (and photograph.) And a massive thank you to Rachel for finding me and having me along. She was so welcoming and hospitable as were all of their family.

Final shout out to Shane’s brother who learned to play the piano for the wedding ceremony. I don’t think he’s taking requests but he performed an amazing piece which I loved listening to.
