Here’s one more blog post about Leanne and Matt and their Highcliffe Castle wedding. You might have caught their wedding preview, but I wanted to publish the whole story of their wedding day in all it’s winter glory. They had a wedding which was styled to perfection with help from Brighter Productions and Made from Paper. Do check out their incredible black tie stationery.

I started photographing Leanne’s bridal preparation in Bournemouth which isn’t too far from Highcliffe Castle. She, along with her bridesmaids and family got ready in a beautiful room with nice big windows. This made all the difference to getting some great images. She wore a White Rose bespoke design gown from College Green Bridal in Bristol and accessories from Bridezillas.

We then made our way to Highcliffe Castle for the wedding ceremony. Matt appeared incredibly relaxed and the ceremony, was, as always the highlight of the day. It’s a great venue, and the fact that it’s a few minutes from the beach makes it even more special. Winter weddings are always a little trickier to photograph. There is the risk of poor weather but also the fact that it gets dark quite early. We had time for some couple photos before it got dark and were blessed that it stopped raining! We only had a small window of time to walk along the shore but it was so worth it.

That said, due to the bad weather we postponed the family photographs until later in the day. I always love the moments after the ceremony – there’s so much happiness, hugs and smiles that it sometimes seems a shame to interrupt the flow with family photos. As it was raining we decided to postpone them until it stopped, and whilst I don’t normally highlight family photographs in my work I thought I’d show you a few here. They are a good example of the problem solving that I encounter as a wedding photographer as plans do change during the day. It wasn’t until after the speeches that we started photographing groups and I decided to do this outside. They look a quite a bit better than they would have done indoors and I thought the black background worked well with the black tie wedding theme.

It was also fun to get a few more photos of Matt & Leanne whilst we waiting for the wedding band to setup.

Thank you SO much for having me along to celebrate with you. Do keep in touch and I wish you both all the happiness for the future!
