Maya & MJ | Larmer Tree | Wedding

It was amazing to go back and be Maya & MJ’s Larmer Tree wedding photographer. I love this venue and their Larmer Tree Gardens wedding was absolutely incredible. With friends and family from all over the globe. A lot of MJ’s family and friends headed over from Australia and they included a few Chinese wedding traditions in their day. They had a Chinese tea ceremony. And later on at night they lit floating paper orchids. It added so much of their personality to day – and it was amazing to photograph too!

You’ll probably remember their spectacular engagement shoot in Snowdonia. MJ was so chilled out on the wedding day, like I think most Australians probably are! His best line was when he said the first time he met Maya she was like one of the peacocks at Larmer Tree. Strutting her features but she wouldn’t let him get near! Maya looked absolutely beautiful. With a big smile on her face all day, she stayed on the dance floor all evening (and I stayed pretty late!)

As always being a Larmer Tree wedding photographer was a joy! Garden games, space hoppers, tea and cake on the lawn, peacocks, the stage and scenery! It’s a wedding photographers dream.

Little shout outs to Forking Out the caterers who looked after me so well as did Gail from Larmer Tree (as always.) The Lacettes played all night and sounded incredible. As did Harriet Adie, the harpist during the ceremony. Judith Searles made all of the beautiful blooms. It was great to work alongside Mark Brown. It’s been a a few years since I’ve seen him. Living and working in LA he’s looking the better for it!

And a huge huge huge thank you to MJ and Maya for having me along. For treating me so well and being so fun to hang out with. I can’t believe they’ve set sail together to live in Australia! Have an amazing time! I’m not envious at all!
