Gemma & Stephen | The Coniston Hotel | Wedding
So last month I travelled up to Leeds for Gemma and Stephen’s wedding at Leeds Cathedral. I’d never been to Leeds before but the place was bustling with tourists and everyone was out enjoying the summer weather. In fact the weather certainly went some way towards forming my enthusiastic view, but it really was nice, especially the surrounding countryside.
And so I met up with Gemma and her bridesmaids before the ceremony. It’s often an emotional part of the day. In fact one of my favourite images is Gemma and her father both wiping a tear away after seeing one another. After she was helped in to her Suzanne Neville dress, I headed off to the ceremony at Leeds Cathedral, but not before taking a few photographs of the Great Escape Cars (great choice BTW!)
I arrived at the Cathedral just as other family and friends were arriving. I had to check with them that I was at the right wedding because Stephen didn’t show up until 10 minutes before the ceremony 😀 I felt some relief when I saw him walking up the street in his Reiss suit wearing his characteristic cheeky smile. The Catholic ceremony was great and made even more special by the fact that Gemma and Stephen first met at holy communion. Quite a story and quite a journey.
After confetti, we headed off through the Yorkshire countryside to The Consiton Hotel. Everyone headed outside for drinks, mini scones and acoustic sounds from Daniel Ross. We later headed inside for food, speeches and Jagerbombs served in teacups from Add Vintage. This made for quite an amusing moment when the priest nervously sipped his toast!
It was great to see Robin from Dancefloor Couture once again. If you’re getting married then I couldn’t recommend this man more. Through chance I’ve met him at a few weddings in the North and I can honestly say he’s incredible.
Before leaving I witnessed the bouquet from Tantalising flowers being launched across the dance floor. Good times! Thank you SO MUCH for having me guys – wishing you both many, many years of happiness…
