bride and groom exit jesus college chapel in oxford

Lisa & David | Jesus College | Wedding

I was recommended to Lisa and David through another client and I was really happy that they booked me. On our first meeting they seemed really friendly but excited – their Jesus College wedding was exactly the same.

This was my first wedding in Oxford and I was glad that Lisa and David had the foresight to organise private parking! Oxford is beautiful, that’s no secret but I was genuinely amazed by their choice of wedding venue. As a photographer I’m a firm believer in choosing a beautiful location. Not only can the place add to the atmosphere of the day but I can be more creative and the photographs look great! And so it was the case that the location of Oxford University bought a certain ambiance, intimacy and grandeur to their wedding. That said, weddings are all about the people, the bride and groom, their family and the guests. Their joy and happiness really made the day unforgettable.

I photographed the bridal preparations at the beautiful Randolph Hotel in Oxford, but I thought the intimacy of Jesus College made for a perfect, perfect ceremony. An hour later I was again bowled over by their choice of reception – the monumental Exeter College. I found their wedding particularly special because I wasn’t just creatively photographing the story of the day but documenting it unfold in a historic setting.

Here are a few of my favourite photographs from the day.
