Malcesine Wedding Photography

So one of the places 2022 took me was Lake Garda, specifically to Malcesine for wedding photography. It was my absolute pleasure to meet Beth & Andy who were two of the most laid back clients I’ve had in some time. That should have been no surprise really because Lake Garda and Malcesine was a pretty relaxing place! It’s no surprise so many Germans and Austrians go to Lake Garda on holiday. The place is stunning and immaculately clean. Highlights of the day included incredible food after the ceremony and then a boat trip around Lake Garda to the reception.

The wedding ceremony was on the roof of Scaligeri Castle – an incredible spot overlooking Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. It is thought to have been built in 568ad – so it’s probably a close contender to the oldest wedding venue I’ve been. The oldest probably being the Roman baths (60-70ad) which I live 25 minutes from! As you might imagine, a summer wedding in Italy it was hot and bright. It was all about cool drinks in shady spots.

The food was absolutely splendid – with drinks and all sorts of nice foods being served down in the town square on the shore of Lake Garda. 

The evening ended with a great DJ who played all sorts of music and then a thunderstorm with thunder, lighting and the motherload of rainfall.
