Sarah & James | Orchardleigh House | Wedding
On the most beautiful, warm, blue skied August day, Sarah and James got married. I was lucky enough to take all of their Orchardleigh House wedding photos.
I’d been looking forward to their wedding for a LONG time, as it was one of the first weddings I shot in in 201o when I first started my wedding photography venture. Their wedding was beautifully styled with pink and red flowers from Bramble and Wild, old fashioned beer tankards and a vintage china tea party. It was awesome! I started with Sarah, her b-maids and mum at Orchardleigh House. where the whole family was getting ready. I managed to switch rooms and also get a few of James before the ceremony too. It’s always nice when the the venue allows the bride and groom to get ready there in the morning. It gives quite a bit more time to photograph everyone! It also has the added bonus of not having to do too much travel which certainly helps take the stress out of what is such a huge event.
The wedding was held inside Orchardleigh House, with lots of friends and family seated down a long aisle which made for a really intimate, cosy ceremony. There were literally so many people it filled the whole room! The coral colour of the bridemaids dresses were so bright and beautiful and (I think) really help give the photographs a little extra sparkle. Not that extra sparkle was really needed next to Sarah who wore the most beautiful, high necked lace wedding dress.
It was a work of art and suited her so well, it definitely goes down as one of the best wedding dresses this year (in my imaginary wedding notebook.) After the ceremony we all headed outside to bathe in the sunlight, eat canapés and drink local ales in beer tankards. I managed to grab a few lovely photos of Sarah and James strolling around the gardens of Orchardleigh before we went in for the wedding breakfast and some GREAT speeches (which I always enjoy.)
To set the scene for the ending of the day I headed outside to photograph Orchardleigh House at night. I LOVE this photo. The smoking chimney. The stars. The warm yellow light from inside. It’s beautiful and makes the perfect end scene for the wedding album.
It was huge honour to be there at their wedding, thank you so much for having me! I wish you both all the happiness for the future.
