St Giles House Winter Wedding
My penultimate wedding of the year led me to St Giles House for a winter wedding. There’s no question winter weddings add their own photographic challenges (weather and low light.) But they more than make up for it in cosiness and spirit. There’s something about everyone being inside a nice big warm charming house at Christmas time.
St Giles House was the perfect backdrop for their winter wedding. The ceremony was truly magical, with the couple exchanging vows beneath a stunning floral leafy arch. After the ceremony guests enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner in the grand dining room. After speeches we all moved to the secret cave rave where they danced the night away.
It was my first wedding ceremony in the in the beautiful room to the left of the entrance (I forgot the name!) They styled it beautifully with autumnal leaves and it looks great in the photos.
Now, to cut to the chase I think the best bit of the day was the first dance. It’s not often I say that but Sophie and Jamies changed in to some spandex rave outfits, cracked some glow sticks and had the mother of all dance offs. At this point a little shout out to their DJ, who, if i were getting married again is the DJ I would hire. It was like ibiza and I loved it.
If you’d like to see a summer wedding photography at St Giles House then hit the link for a little sunshine.
It was great to work with hair & makeup artists Amazing Face once again! Ot her shoutouts to florals from Poppy Sturley, catering Red Herring and last but not least DJ James Herkes.
And a massive thank you to Sophie and James for shopping their trust in me. Being part of their wedding was a highlight of my year. Now enough waffle, and on with the St Giles House winter wedding photos.
