Summer Wedding at Villa Podernovo
It was amazing to return for Amanda and Zach’s summer wedding at Villa Podernovo. Summer weddings in Italy are always a treat and this 18th century villa near Siena is one of my favourite wedding venues in Tuscany. It was great to do wedding photography at Villa Podernovo once again and it’s a really beautiful place in Tuscany full of character. The food and drink is also pretty amazing not to mention the owner Diana who is always so welcoming.
However, for the first time I worked with @innarhuntfilms who was full of energy. If you’re also interesting in wedding videography be sure to check out his work. Whislt I probably get slightly better photos alone there’s no doubt it’s great to work creatively alongside a videographer and get a few extra ideas.
Amanda and Zach’s family and friends were a lovely group of people, they could not have been more welcoming. One of my favourite moments from the day was the speech by Zach’s mum about what parenthood is like and how proud of him they are. It definitely hit a chord with me.
It’s not always guaranteed in Tuscany but we got some amazing light at sunset. Portraits were a dream and I’ve been quite a few times to summer weddings at Villa Podernovo. So heading to the best vantage points certainly makes like easier. I headed to do the wedding photography at San Galgano Abbey which quite frankly is probably the best wedding ceremony venue I’ve been to. Sadly the rules of changed and they let tourists in to the ceremony whereas before it used to be completely private. As a photographer the Photoshop tool certainly helps with this but happily it was a very quiet day at San Galgano and there weren’t many people about.
