Yurt Wedding Photography

My first time doing yurt wedding photography and it was full of surprises! I can say Alice and Darioush’s wedding was a privilege to capture for so many reasons. When the groom and his best men arrive at the church on horseback it’s a good start. Better yet they are wearing white jodhpurs and were the best dressed groomsmen I’ve seen. It gets better, there was an uncooperative owl who refused to deliver the wedding rings – it was wedding photography gold. Mainly because everyone saw the funny side. They had the mother of all confetti throws and the most delicious looking and tasting food.

Alice looked incredible with a wedding dress that had fairy wings – one of the most unique and beautiful dresses I’ve seen all year. Perfect choice. She arrived to the church in a convertible Porsche GTS and Darioush opened a bottle of champagne with his very own sword.

During couple portraits the clouds parted and we were treated to the most amazing sun set. They looked sensational. I also got to work with Richard again which was a bonus.

Photographing a wedding in a yurt was a lot of fun. It let in quite a lot of light and was just lovely to be in. One of my favourite images from 2017 was a shot at night where we stepped out for a breath of fresh air. They chose a yurt, not only because it looks cool and is a little bit different. But also because it goes back to where Darioush’s family comes from.

A huge thank you to Alice and Darioush for having me along to photograph their day. I hope these images bring it all back for years and years to come.
