Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Coombe Lodge
Not my first time as a Coombe Lodge wedding photographer, it was great to return to this beautiful wedding venue. Just 20 minutes from my front door I know it pretty well now and love it particularly for it’s outdoor wedding ceremonies.
Sarah and Will’s wedding was a particularly memorable wedding from last year. Partly because they bought along their cute little dog who had a great time and almost stole the show! I got to work with many of my favourite local Bristol vendors, namely Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper and The Rose Shed florist. Cakes by Samantha baked a beauty of a cake and the Sarah’s (memorably) stunning gown was from Carina Baverstock. Will’s suit hire was from Jack Bunney. I also worked alongside Ray McShane Videography. Being completely honest I have a very vague memory of Ray even being there. However that can only be a good thing and speaks volumes about his reportage ninja skills. Top work Ray!
As I mentioned, I love visiting Coombe Lodge, especially when the weather is good enough for an outdoor ceremony. At the back of the house there is a little courtyard and when all the chairs are out it’s a beautiful little area to get married. It comes out really well in photos, even in extreme sunlight and there are plenty of vantage points for photography.
My favourite moment of the day was capturing an image I’d envisioned for some time. You can see the a wide view of Coombe Lodge from high up on the bank and Sarah and Will exiting the ceremony. All of their guests are following behind them and their dog is waiting to greet them. Styling highlight was the flowers behind Sarah and Will, they looked ace hanging on the wall behind them during the speeches.

As I was about the type what I was feeling when I finished this gallery, I realized I think other people said the same thing.. “THIS IS INSANE! haha! You really did a fine job of capturing the true essence of their wedding day and make us feel like we were RIGHT THERE! I love love love that you captured those socks! Seriously, I am always looking for things like that at weddings to capture. Everything was seamless and they seem like an amazing family to know. Also, your wide angle shots are perfect! You have a beautiful variety to offer your clients. Thanks for sharing!
