A STUNNING VENUE FOR COUPLES WANTING A RELAXED YET ELEGANT SOMERSET WEDDING
Brympton House is one of those places that instantly feels special the moment you arrive. The first sign is that long tree lined drive that leads to the second long driveway. The main house is full of character, feeling warm, relaxed, and easy to enjoy. It’s elegant without being overbearing and it lends itself beautifully to weddings that feel personal and unforced. Every time I photograph a wedding here the team are brilliant, calm, welcoming, and completely invested in making the day run smoothly. It’s also a venue that looks incredible whatever the season.
As a wedding photographer, Brympton House offers so much variety. The large windows give the softest light, from getting ready photos, the bar area as well as the different dining room options. The gardens and sweeping views down to the lake, the staircase, the front of the house and back to that driveway. It’s a perfect spot for natural, editorial-style portraits. As the day moves into the evening I’ve seen conga lines leading down the drive way to the party house. People having fun with marshmallows over the fire pits and of course the epic dance floor options.

By day, Brympton House feels calm and elegant, with its historic rooms, gardens, and sweeping Somerset views. As evening falls, it naturally shifts into a lively, welcoming space that’s perfect for relaxed dinners, dancing, and celebration.

If there’s one venue that truly stands out as the crème de la crème of South West wedding venues, Brympton House would be right up there.
So it’s no surprise that I absolutely love it when couples ask me to be their Brympton House wedding photographer.
A BIT ABOUT IT
FOUNDED IN 1220
Brympton House has everything you could possibly want from a wedding venue, and then some. Steeped in history and set within beautiful Somerset countryside, it has been in the hands of the same family since 1220.
That history gives Brympton House a real sense of soul. Alongside the stunning aesthetics, there’s an atmosphere to the place that you can truly feel, which is exactly what you want when you’re spending one of the most important days, or weekends, of your life there.
CHURCH WEDDING?
If you’re planning a religious ceremony, there’s a beautiful church just a short walk from Brympton House. Literally onsite!
Civil ceremonies can take place in the Hall next to the house, with its stunning glass windows that lets in lots of light.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing some truly unforgettable ceremonies there, and it’s a space that lends itself perfectly to big, emotional moments. Whether it’s live music, a surprise entrance, or that collective intake of breath just before you walk down the aisle, Brympton House absolutely delivers.
THE RECEPTION
So where do you head after the ceremony? At Brympton House, it’s straight out onto the lawns. With the house as your backdrop and space for guests to properly relax, it’s the perfect spot for drinks, mingling, and letting the day unfold naturally.
I’ve seen everything from laid back chats in the sunshine to full blown games on the grass, and yes, even a bit of mid afternoon limbo. Honestly, there’s never enough 3pm limbo at weddings if you ask me.
