Ruth & Mike | Wedding | Courtlands House, Devon

Being Ruth and Mike’s wedding photographer at Courtlands House was really REALLY fun. I love Devon. The place is gorgeous and we got the most incredible light in the summer. Golden. It just begged for me to take beautful photographs of the bride and groom. Devon is a manageable drive for me as I live in Bristol but I am so happy I got to photograph this beautiful wedding. The day was just perfect. There was a mini family reunion to photograph in the morning and then the bridal preparations at Courtlands House. The venue was REALLY beautiful and whilst I don’t think it was Ruth’s first choice it was a great find. The rooms were beautiful and it was so nice to be outside for the nice weather.

The ceremony at Topsham Methodist Church was also really nice. It’s a charming English church right in the centre of town. When Ruth arrived all of the nearby shoppers came outside to see her! Did I mention how nice the weather was? It was such a happy, relaxed day and I think this shows in their photographs. The speeches were laugh out loud funny (always my favourite part of a wedding!) and then the dancing.
