Ideal for couples dreaming of a romantic, laid-back wedding in the heart of Bristol
The Mount Without is one of those venues that immediately feels different. It’s a former church just outside central Bristol, full of character, light and creative energy. It feels open and impressive, but still relaxed and welcoming, which makes it such a great setting for a wedding that doesn’t feel overly structured or formal.
I love photographing weddings here because the space does so much of the work. The light is gorgeous, the architecture adds drama without distraction, and everything flows naturally from ceremony to celebration. It’s a brilliant choice for couples who want a romantic, laid-back wedding with a strong sense of place.
THE INFO
The Mount Without is beautiful in daylight, full of character and history – and as night falls it turns into an incredible, atmospheric party space right in the heart of Bristol.

A FIRM FAVOURITE
I think I have to say that The Mount Without wedding venue is probably my favourite in Bristol. Located in the heart of the city it has so much character, history and stunning views of the city. As a Bristol wedding photographer I can’t wait to go back and I’m pumped to say I have a few more bookings there already in 2024. It’s top of my list of the best wedding venues in Bristol.
My favourite part of the day was when a little gang of us climbed the small stone staircase to the top of the church at sunset. We reached the top just in time to witness the stunning vistas of the city. Talk about a wedding album with an unbeatable backdrop!
A little shout out to the staff and caterers because the food hit the spot. Let’s be real, one of the highlights of my job is the wedding food! The Mount Without didn’t disappoint in the culinary department. The spread was more than just “nice”—it was downright delicious. From little canapé hamburgers to scrumptious main courses my tastebuds had a treat.
For couple photos we headed straight to Bristol’s Christmas steps. Honestly, we were spoilt for choice as there are many nice little spots around this part of the city. But Holly and Cailum took a detour from the usual and headed to this picturesque alleyway as well wishers shouted congratulations at them! It was a nice unconventional spot that suited their fun-loving spirit. Add in those sunglasses and we had an extra dash of quirkiness to their wedding album.
Like all good weddings their day ended with a cave rave! When it comes to partying, Holly and Cailum knew how to throw it down!
A massive shout out to the other wedding vendors. My videographer partners in crime were break every chain productions and the local Bristol DJ Feel The Funk Disco who I would HIGHLY recommend. Holly’s gown was from The Bridal Room and their planner was Beth from Daughter Bloom Weddings.
And finally a massive thank you to Holy and Cailum. Your wedding was a non-stop adventure and I loved taking your wedding photos at this offbeat venue. From climbing to the top of the church at sunset to laughing out loud at the speeches it was anything but boring.
Here are a few of my favourite photos from Holly and Cailum’s epic wedding adventure.

I LOVE ELMORE
If there’s one place that could be considered the crème de la crème of all South West wedding venues, then Elmore Court would be it.
It’s no surprise, then, that I absolutely adore it when couples ask me to be their Elmore Court wedding photographer!
A BIT ABOUT IT
FOUNDED IN 1274
Elmore Court has everything you could possibly want from your wedding venue by the bucketful. It’s the most magical space set at the north of the Severn Vale, and has been in the hands of the same family since 1274.
This means that alongside the aesthetics, the venue also has an incredible feel to it, which is key when you’re spending one of the most important days and/or weekends of your life there!
CHURCH WEDDING?
If you’re looking for a religious ceremony there’s a church less than a mile away; but you can also have civil ceremonies in the Hall inside the house, which has incredible high ceilings and stained glass windows. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a kickass ceremony in there as Rebecca and Steven’s Elmore Court wedding photographer. Just before they walked down the aisle together, the New York Brass band burst out from behind the door and started playing; it was honestly INCREDIBLE.
THE RECEPTION
Where can you go after the ceremony? Rebecca and Steven continued their party onto the grassy lawn outside, where they and their guests, among other things, enjoyed a spot of 3pm limbo (You don’t get enough 3pm limbo at weddings, in my opinion.)
Elmore Court truly is one of the most stunning wedding venues around. I’ve shot weddings there throughout the year, and it never fails to wow! Turning every corner reveals new wonder; which is great for guests, as it makes for an unforgettable day, but also great for your Elmore Court wedding photographer, as it means there’s always new backdrops and portraits spots to get excited about.
