Stanbrook Abbey Wedding Photographer

My first time as a Stanbrook Abbey wedding photographer, and wow! It’s a beautiful venue just up the motorway from my home, I can’t wait to return. It has a really unique wedding ceremony room that reminds me of the beautiful Cambridge and Oxford chapels that graduates can get married in. Marble floors, lots of ornate carved wood and inward facing pews.

I arrived early on the morning of their wedding and went for a little walk around the boutique hotel. It was great to finally meet Rachael who was super excited about getting married. Surrounded by good friends and family there was a great vibe. She wore a gorgeous wedding gown by Martina Liana and some cool gold heels to finish off the look. I met Chris and his entourage setting up the ceremony room with flowers from Simply Flowers by Catherine. Being a self confessed Peaky Blinders addict he wore a flat cap for part of the day which was a nice touch!

Strangely enough I photographed the directors wedding of Peaky Blinders which was pretty cool. I haven’t added it to the website (yet!) but it could well make an appearance soon!

The Photos

Rachael was full of great photo ideas, one of which included taking photos from high up on the balcony during the ceremony. I set up a remote camera and we got some great photos via a time-lapse through the wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony everyone headed outside in to the gardens for drinks, canapés and a few relaxed photos. They really chose a beautiful venue in Stanbrook Abbey and we had a quick walk around the gardens for couple photos before heading inside later on for dinner and dancing. After speeches Rachael asked for a few more photos around sunset and we headed out to the carpark for a few cool silhouette wedding images of them both as the sun went down.

After photos we headed back inside for their first dance and then The Replicas played the night away.
